Ben & Jerry’s Newest Flavor is Herbicide
Glyphosate is a chemical used in Monsanto’s Roundup week killer. In July, California’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment added the chemical to its list of known carcinogens, and more and more lawsuits have been filed against Monsanto, claiming that prolonged use of Roundup has been linked to diseases and cancers.
Noe, the New York Times is reporting that trace amounts of glyphosate has bene found in 10 out of 11 ice cream samples made by Ben & Jerry’s. Both government regulators and the scientists involved with the testing have said that the amounts found in the ice cream are very small, and “far below the ceiling set by the Environmental Protection Agency,” as per the Times. Ben & Jerry’s itself appears to be taking this seriously, and is looking into the matter.
